Peter and the wolf

Rediscover Sergei Prokofiev’s famous musical fairy tale through the cardboard puppets created by Fanny Pelichet. The show resembles a giant, animated, musical book.

FANNY PELICHET, an actress and visual artist, chose to add a visual element to this work alongside the music and narrative. Inspired by Russian imagery, she created cardboard puppets that she manipulates in full view of the audience. The performance thus resembles a giant, animated, musical book.

“One fine morning, Peter opened the garden gate and set off into the vast green meadows…” Thus begins Sergei Prokofiev’s famous musical fairy tale.

Peter, thirsting for freedom and adventure, disobeys his grandfather and leaves the protective garden. Once the gate is open, a series of unexpected events unfolds; the bird, the duck, the cat, the grandfather, the wolf, and the hunters all make their way into the story one after another, disrupting the peaceful atmosphere. But thanks to Pierre’s courage and cunning, everything will return to normal… well, almost.
