Memberships
Depending on the chosen plan, membership provides access to the library, reading rooms, member rates and the other benefits presented during checkout. Plans and their total price in Swiss francs are shown before payment. Membership takes effect once payment is confirmed.
Membership term and renewal
Membership is entered into for twelve months from its start date. A new annual fee, at the rate then in effect, is due on each anniversary to renew the membership. Normal and supporting memberships may cover the spouse and children under 15 named when joining; school-age and young memberships cover their holder only.
Membership cancellation and refunds
Cancellation requests must be sent to the office. A membership fee that has already been paid is generally non-refundable, including when membership is cancelled during its term. Exceptional circumstances may be reviewed by the office upon request.
Payment
Online payment is preferred because it confirms payment immediately. Payment at the office or by bank transfer must be made by the deadline shown on the invoice, which defaults to 7 days after issuance. Payment information is available on your order page in your account. After the applicable deadline, the Société de Lecture may cancel the booking; places remain reserved until the office acts.
Cancellation
Places may be cancelled at any time, releasing them for other participants. A paid ticket is refundable until 7 days before the event, subject to a CHF 5.– fee per cancelled ticket. After that deadline, cancelled tickets are not refunded.
