Moderated by Joséphine de Weck

In collaboration with the Théâtre de Carouge

Trained at Maurice Béjart’s École Mudra, MICHÈLE ANNE DE MEY founded her company, Astragale, in 1990. As co-director of Charleroi-Danses from 2005 to 2016, she restaged her signature work, Sinfonia Eroica, there. In 2016, she premiered her solo piece, Amor, at the Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles. In 2021, she directed her first short film, Fiction dansée, which was selected for the BSFF. Her choreographic style is characterized by a strong dramaturgy that places the dancer at the heart of the relationship between the stage and the audience.

A graduate of Louis-Lumière in Paris and INSAS in Brussels, JACO VAN DORMAEL has directed cult films such as Toto le Héros in 1991, which won the Caméra d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, The Eighth Day in 1996, also honored at Cannes, and Mr. Nobody in 2009, which won awards at the Venice Film Festival, the Magritte Awards, and the European Film Awards. As a theater and opera director, his multifaceted and dreamlike style explores memory, the power of the imagination, and the essence of childhood.

Together, they created Kiss & Cry in 2011 during the VIA Festival. Inventing “nano-dance,” they fuse finger dance, theater, and cinema in real time to tell stories of miniature lives. This global success, which is still touring today, led them to create Cold Blood, which the Théâtre de Carouge hosted in 2018.

Kiss & Cry runs from November 17 to December 20, 2026, at the Théâtre de Carouge. Reservations for the show: on the website theatredecarouge.ch or by phone at 022 343 43 43.
