Atelier d’échecs – Jeune public
Facilitated by Mégane Miralles, Clovis Vernay and Yohan Benitah
Younger players will learn the rules of the game. More experienced children will develop their tactical and strategic understanding.
The youngest beginners (ages 4 to 6) will be introduced to the basic rules of chess, while children with some previous experience will learn to recognise checkmates and simple tactical combinations. Older or more advanced players will further develop their tactical and strategic understanding. Chess is both stimulating and rewarding as it helps to develop memory, concentration, anticipation and decision-making, patience and good sportsmanship. Each child will receive a workbook adapted to their level, enabling them to follow their progress and continue practising beyond the workshop. On the last day, all three groups will participate in a friendly competition, with trophies awarded to the top three finalists and the top-ranking girl.
