Born in 1997, ARNAUD MIRANDA holds a Ph.D. in political theory and is affiliated with the Center for Political Research at Sciences Po. Winner of the Fondation des Treilles “Young Researcher” Award in 2024, he has been teaching the history of political ideas and philosophy since 2019 at Sciences Po, the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin, and the Catholic Institute of Paris. His book Les Lumières sombres (Gallimard, winner of the 2026 Revue des Deux Mondes Prize) delves into the heart of American neo-reactionary thought. Donald Trump’s second victory has brought to light a new radical right-wing political counterculture that has gradually secured the support of Silicon Valley billionaires, who helped him carve out a path within the Republican Party. Their wildest dreams—the end of democracy, the return of a hierarchical society, masculinism, and biologism—now risk becoming our reality.
